Danny Boyle Interview & More of What I've Been Up To...

So, that's Danny Boyle, director of "Slumdog Millionaire," "Trainspotting," and "28 Days Later," on the left. I took this photo of him with Roger Durling, who's artistic director of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, at the Lobero Theater here in SB almost 3 weeks ago (on Monday, January 26th), during that relatively prestigious film fest.

After their post-"Slumdog" screening Q&A, I got about 5 minutes to talk to Boyle, one of my favorite film directors on the strength of 2 movies I've probably watched dozens of times, each (have still yet to see "Shallow Grave," "Millions," "Sunshine," and "The Beach" for that matter). My first chance to see "Slumdog Millionaire" was that very night, so you guessed right: I am obsessed with "Trainspotting" and "28 Days Later."

I scored my interview time for my KCSB-FM radio show, "The Freak Power Ticket." Aired it a couple weeks ago during KCSB's annual fund drive. Now I'm posting it here just in case any of you are interested. You can check out the broadcast even by clicking below.

In other news: KCSB raised an impressive $21,000+ (perhaps soon to hit $22K) during a fund-drive that was suspended in Nov. due to the last big fire that hit our parts. All of that explains why you haven't seen much of me of late. Sorry, and I miss you peeps (although the Buzzframe trips me out now more than ever).

Here's the text I posted elsewhere about that radio broadcast:
